This 1960’s leather coat I used for this particular red slouchy hobo bag was completely unique with its gold buckles across the front. The leather had amazing softness but together rugged and thick.I am thinking possibly from the early sixties and it had been worn a lot but well looked after. The twistlock buckles were tarnished but made the finished red leather slouchy hobo bag even more vintage.I always use upcycled clothing for the lining but with this one I mixed it up with a bit of Ted Baker shirt with some fab cotton off cut I had over from something else.  After exhibiting this particular slouchy hobo at my early days craft events etc I finally put it up for sale and sold it to a lovely lady all the way over in Victoria Australia. We have kept in contact since and its been lovely getting to know her. I never imagined the bag and matching purse I sent over would have double uses but this is what she sent me.

Hi Aly, I’m so happy that your shop is taking off! I am still soooo in love with my bag! I feel good just looking at her! And the number of compliments I get is amazing.
One of my doggies, Mika, my old lady, has decided that she loves sleeping on it (nice soft leather, and it’s one of mummy’s special things….) but last night she actually slept IN it! So now my bag is even better than her getting under the duvet!

Its a pleasure making the bags but maybe I’ll bring out a line of dog bag/beds.The remaining leather came in usefull for this small iPad cross body.
